Wool felt jacket with raw edge construction

A very nice researcher was wearing this fabulous jacket/sweater in the research room one Alaskan winter day in 2005. I didn’t want to freak her out by peering at her clothing too closely, but while she was studying I hurriedly sketched the great pattern. I loved the visible raw edges on the exterior of the bodice and resolved to do my own version. Mum found the hand dyed wool felt in Montana (Silver Thimble? Barb Cribb?). I gotta say, the speed with which you can finish a garment when there is no edge finishing is truly fantastic! I’m thinking all my clothes might be wool felt from now on. Hey, in Alaska it’s perfectly possible!
